Project Summary

ARAS has produced the event since 2015.  In 2021 our agency created a safe community-at-large event to celebrate Día de los Muertos at Inglewood Park Cemetery as a free drive-thru of the memorial park.  Together with IPC, we designated a route to feature special developments in the park where zones were created with artistic decorative items for families to enjoy.  Purchased airwave and attendees tuned into 89.9FM for special program to guide them through the event.  Some of the zones were interactive, including the Children’s area with arts and crafts “to go kits.” Special areas were created for selfies, such as the Plaza and the Monarch Butterflies zones.  A Remembrance Tree zone was a special area for attendees to leave message notes for loved ones and was followed by an altar created in honor of Frida Kahlo. Attendees received Pan de Muerto as a departing gift. The event drew over 1,500 attendees, active social media posts and TV media coverage.
